Today, I'm very influenced by Bishop Briggs, Donna Missal, grandson. I grew up loving the icons though - Michael Jackson , Whitney, Alanis, No Doubt.
What is your go to karaoke song?
Either "Fallin" by Alicia Keys or "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morisette, just depends on how lively I'm feeling that night but I usually get to Alanis after a few drinks haha.
What is an interesting fun fact about you?
I have 2 adorable, kind of insta-famous corgis! (@thunderboltcorgi if you're interested) They are my furbabies and their snuggles have definitely gotten me through this crazy year that is 2020.
Melanie Taylor is an award winning indie pop artist born and raised in San Diego CA. She is a seasoned performer and highly versatile artist. Melanie's debut album “All About Today” donned the singles “Cease Fire” and “Walk of Shame,” which were played on international radio, and ranked top 50 on national indie radio charts. “Money,” the first single off her current album, and “Inta My Heart,” which was released under the leading Swedish dance label Clubstream, have garnered hundreds of thousands of views on Youtube since their release. “Adderall,” one of her biggest singles now has over 223,000+ streams on Spotify, and has been followed up by a string of successful singles that have highlighted her more edgy alternative direction.
Her music has attracted the attention of Pandora, as well as many popular music blogs such as Hype Machine, Pop Dust, and Vents Magazine. Melanie is also singing the title track “I Want That Smoke” in the Russell Peters comedy “Ripped.”
Additionally, her single “Dizzy” was the official theme song for CES 2017, the world’s largest trade show. Melanie was able to begin her international presence in Australia, where she toured in the summer of 2018, and continued touring the US Pacific Northwest June and November of 2019.
