What is an interesting fun fact about you?

I’m a big fan of doing magic tricks. Street magic is where you take everyday objects, often times from spectators and do something impossible with it. It’s a great ice breaker!

Wood first picked up a guitar at age 13 and quickly founded the pop/rock boy band, Before You Exit, serving as their lead guitarist. The band’s success led to extensive touring with acts such as All Time Low, Allstar Weekend, and Olly Murs playing in prestigious venues like the House of Blues, the Fillmore, the Stone Pony, and Irving Plaza. With a desire to branch out from the ‘boy band’ stigma and to explore a more mature sound, Wood amicably parted from the band in 2013 to become a solo artist. He re-emerged in 2014 with a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign and subsequent release of his debut EP, Be Free, Be Strong, featuring a collection of songs written while on the road with his previous band. Freeze Time, the lead single, exhibits Wood’s trademark sound of dreamy keyboard synth and jangly guitar rhythm. In 2015, Wood released an edgier follow-up EP, Noiz. The whimsical video for the single, Architecture 101, goes viral on YouTube. Wood has developed a cult following in the Philippines where his songs and videos garner nationwide airplay and charting success. He visits the country annually for a select number of tour dates and fan events.

Braiden Wood was raised in a Christian home. He cites Christian acts like Switchfoot and Reliant K as big influences but also artists like John Mayer, Coldplay, and Andy Grammar. His writing is not preachy but always positive. In his spare time, he can be found creating videos and covering songs on his YouTube channel. His cover of Echosmith’s Cool Kids may be better than the original. Wood loves his fans and frequently interacts with his 58,000+ Twitter followers. He is currently writing for his full-length album debut. Tour dates will follow in support.
